Privacy Policy
DenseDrive · last updated 5 August 2026
Short version
DenseDrive collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no telemetry and no server of its own. Your disks and everything inside them stay on your Mac.
What the app does with your data
DenseDrive creates and opens compressed disks. The contents of those disks are written to files on your own Mac, in a folder you choose yourself. Nothing is uploaded anywhere.
The app stores two small things of its own, inside its own container on your Mac:
- the list of disks you have added, so it can show them again next time;
- a security-scoped bookmark for the folder you chose, so it does not have to ask for permission on every launch.
If you ask DenseDrive to remember an encryption password, that password is stored in the macOS keychain on that Mac, marked as not synchronised to iCloud. It never leaves the device. You can remove it at any time with Forget Password in the app.
Network
The app makes no network requests of its own.
Purchases go through the App Store. That exchange is handled by Apple, and Apple's privacy policy applies to it. DenseDrive receives only the answer to one question — whether this Apple Account has bought the full version — and stores no payment details, because it never sees any.
Encryption
Encrypted disks are encrypted on your Mac with a key derived from your password. The password is never transmitted and is not recoverable by anyone, including the author. If you forget it, the data in that disk cannot be recovered.
Diagnostics and crash reports
DenseDrive sends none. If you choose to share a macOS crash report with the developer through Apple's own mechanism, Apple decides what it contains; that is Apple's channel, not ours.
The app writes messages to the macOS system log, as any app does. File names and disk names are deliberately marked as private there, so they do not appear in plain text in exported logs.
Children
DenseDrive is a utility for managing storage and is not directed at children. It collects no data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the date at the top changes with it. Since the app collects nothing, the only plausible change is one that adds something — and that would be announced in the app's release notes, not only here.
